Hi! My name is Davíð and I'm a first-time buyer myself - still searching for my first property. Yes, you read that right. I haven't found it yet.
When I started looking at the real estate market in Iceland, I quickly discovered that information was scattered all over the web. What is an indexed loan? How does pension savings work? What should I look for when viewing an apartment? The questions were endless.

Fyrstukaup was born out of personal need. The calculators, checklists, and all the information are what I used (and still use!) on my journey to my first property. Hopefully they can help you too.
Have I found my dream property? No, not yet. But I've learned an incredible amount along the way. I've been to numerous open houses, calculated loans over and over, and know the pension savings system inside and out.
The real estate market in Iceland is challenging, especially for us first-time buyers. Prices are high, competition is fierce, and sometimes it feels like you're chasing a dream. But we don't give up!
