Owners are encouraged to attend. Anyone who cannot attend in person may give another person a written or electronic, dated proxy (umboð) to attend and vote on their behalf. A spouse or cohabiting partner can vote without a proxy.

An annual general meeting must be called at least 8 and at most 20 days in advance, and other house meetings at least 4 and at most 20 days in advance, in writing and/or electronically and in a verifiable way. Only matters mentioned in the notice can be voted on, unless all owners attend.
